Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' first female artist with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her create Rihanna references. On December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed alongside Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. She also appeared in two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was later released in September. In November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 the singer released two new singles, titled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded together with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on 16 November. It then came out as a stand-alone single in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. In February of 2019, a music video was released for the song. It has already received more than 3 million hits on YouTube in its debut week. In support of the track she performed together with 6LACK in December of 2018 for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
