Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. She has previously recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by the band Oasis for a Christmas advertisement by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. The singer gained further attention through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding a piano in her attic and being awed by the music it could make. The parents of her May-Britt family as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a career or hobby but for growth. This led to her began to write the music she composed herself. Her sources include noted authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her love of Bjork's style. Her mother had said that her songs could not only help her gain fame, and also inspire others to see their importance in the world and realize the possibilities for her songs She decided to start performing publicly. At age 6, she began to play the piano, and when she was nine, started writing songs. It was unknown by her family until she was fourteen. It was never a dream to become Aurora. The singer says that she simply likes to compose songs. Music is her favorite way of feeling anything.
